Nigeria were on Friday held to a 1-1 draw by Senegal at the Demba Diop Stadium, Dakar, Senegal in the first leg of the African Women Cup of Nations qualifier.
The Super Falcons took the lead through Chioma Wogu but the Senegalese ladies equalised to make sure the defending champions leave their west African neighbours with a draw.
Coach Florence Omagbemi started a strong side as she pursued her first win in charge of the Falcons. Sandra Chiichii started in goal while Ugo Njoku, Edoho Blessing, Gladys Akpa and Osinachi Ohale were in the defence. Rita Chikwelu, Ngozi Okobi, Ebere Orji and Francisca Ordega were in the midfield and Asisat Oshoala led the attack with Desire Oparanozie.
